    7. I belive it goes both ways meaning yeah is nice to go on the computer and play but you need to take sometime out of your day and do some physical activity because there needs to be a balance.
    8. If the kids on the future only know how to play online games what would happen if all the computers broke down and there wass no way to fix them?

  6. 1) Stefanie McHugh. "Online Gaming Addiction-Myth or Reality?" http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Opinions/Online-Gaming-Addiction-Myth-or-Reality/2/
    2) Online gaming can be very dangerous and even deadly in some severe cases. Psychologists as well as scientific researchers have been expressing this fear since early 2002 when Online Gaming started to become popular.
    3) -A 13 year old boy living in Asia died after falling out his window. His parents are suing Blizzard Entertainment for his death. They claim that he was re-enacting a scene from the game.
    - In August 2005 a 21 year old man died after playing an Online Game for fifty hours straight.
    - Those who are most susceptible to Online Gaming Addiction are most likely lonely, isolated, and prone to boredom.
    - A person addicted to Online Gaming is very similar to a drug addict. They have to fulfill their craving after being triggered by something as small as seeing a sign advertising the game.
    4) I don't think that much will change. If articles like this haven't stopped people in the past then there is not reason for them to stop anytime soon.
    5) Researchers from the Charite University Medicine Berline in Germany have contributed to this article as well as many well-known psychologists and professionals that only study addictions.
    6) From reading this article from this particular author I have learned that Online Gaming can become very dangerous, as can any addiction and has even proven to be deadly in some rare cases.
    7) I see both sides of the argument. Anything in moderation is okay for you, but if you get to involved or addicted to any one thing it can become extremely dangerous.
    8) What do you think makes people addicted to Online Gaming to the point where they can play it for fifty hours straight?

  10. 1. Joseph Sensback, Price change for Xbox LIVE Gold subscription, http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/08/30/price-change-for-xbox-live-gold-subscription.aspx

    2. Microsoft has been adding new features to the Xbox for quite some time, and has now decided to make online players pay an extra fee. The price change will take effect mostly in the USA.

    3. A. There are quite a few free features that you don't have to pay for.
    B. Only a few small price changes will occur outside of the USA.
C.All Xbox Live prices in the USA will increase.
    D. The changes have been only slightly noticeable, and have been overlooked for months.

    4. Everybody paying the Xbox Live fee in the USA will get very angry, and quit playing Xbox, or will still continue to use the service.

    5. Things like this have happened before, and the same has happened many times.

    6. I understand that adding the new features was probably an excuse to charge an extra fee, and that Microsoft is continuing its greedy ways.

    7. My opinion is that we should have seen it coming, due to the fact that Microsoft is one of the greediest companies out there. I am very sad that they have to continue stealing more and more of consumers money.

    8. What would you do if you had to pay an extra fee for a service you love? Would you pay the extra fee, or would you quit using the service?

    3. U.S retails 175B in revenues in 2007. More than 70% of Americans use the internet. In 2008, holiday sales went down by 1% in e-commerce. Amazon.com employee revenues $850K while its retail counterpart Best buy generates revenue per employee of only $270K.
    4. I predict that the e-commerce stores will become more and more dependable on and soon the retail stores will go out of business.
    5. E-commerce is very powerful and is used my 70% of Americans and will soon be used by mostly the whole world.
    6. I understood that there are many e-commerce websites and that they are used often and make a lot of money. Also that retail stores do not make as much and that e-commerce can eventually make retail stores go out of business.
    7. My opinion is that they should let e-commerce continue because it is making retail stores go broke and eventually out of business.

    3. He receives email frequently and recently about products and offers. Online shopping is still amazingly convenient and the best way to comparison shop. The industry will pick up once the economy rebounds. E-commerce is at its crossroads.
    4. My prediction on e-commerce that it will be very successful as soon as the economy rebounds because they will have an enormous of buyers.
    5. Never of heard of e-commerce but have heard of eBay which is a website that you can purchase new materials and sells materials for discounts.
    6. I understood that e-commerce and eBay are also the same way to buy products and materials that are easier to buy but eBay is more experienced.

The site was founded with the goal of becoming a main online network through which charities and retail merchants engage in fundraising and a portion of the money will be donated to charity.

  16. 1. Joseph Libio, e-commerce, http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2007/01/10-traits-of-highly-successful-ecommerce-companies.html
    2. Having worked with many websites that have grown to turnovers of £1m GBP (and more) we have been able to observe common traits that apply to almost all of them.
    3.A clear vision and goal
They know exactly what they want to achieve. This ‘laser like focus’ helps form an unshakeable conviction and dedication to building a successful online business.

    Patience and a long-term view
They constantly measure if they are gradually getting there. And they can live with the paradoxes in online retail. For example the Internet changes quickly but organic SEO is a relatively slow process. Every day, every week, every month gives feedback measured in many ways against targets.

    Taking calculated risks
Taking necessary risk and being prepared to invest is key. Investment is the fuel of a business so choosing where to spend money is critical. Successful websites invest money in activities that generate growth or make them more efficient – ideally both at the same time.

A commitment to ‘Kaizen’ or continuous improvement
Winners know this and delight in every little enhancement they make. Whole redesigns are common every 6 – 12 months. The search engines love it. These websites never rest on their laurels because within a few weeks someone could come along and take some of their business. Which is not part of the plan.
    4. I think e-commerce will become bigger than it is now.
    5. Successful sites embrace technology and change
There’s a million teenagers out there who want to steal your business. If they had the funding they’d be doing it now. Keeping abreast of developments online is key in online marketing, news, shifts in online culture and understanding how to read basic web analytics. Being clueless to these things will eventually leave you for dead.
    6. I understood that e-commerce is a good place for stores.
    7. My opinion is that e-commerce is great to use.
    8. Would you use e-commerce?

    2) Due to the Competition between E-commerce and stores, Toys R Us is going to open small quick shops in malls around the nation. E-commerce make loads of money from people during the holidays and Toys R Us wants in. They figure since your already out at the mall, you can just stop in and pick up the gifts you need instead of wasting your time on the computer at home. Toys R Us believes that they can bring in a great income from these quick stop stores.
    3) "We've been very aggressive during the economic downturn, and this is another aggressive action," CEO Jerry Storch said
"During the holiday season, mall traffic ramps up, and this will allow customers to purchase fill-in toys," when they are at the mall already, he said.
Toys sales traditionally hold up well during tough economic times because parents cut spending on themselves rather than their children.
Revenue rose more than 5 percent to $2.61 billion.
    4) I believe that the income will rise significantly. I believe that Toys R Us will choose to keep more quick stop stores than they close. In my opinion E-commerce will be more used than the quick stop stores.
    5) It depends on a variety of factors including the health and stability of the markets
Toys R Us has used the weak economy to grow by acquiring smaller toy retailers.
In Toys R Us' most recent quarter, the company reported a loss because of higher costs.
The Toys R Us "Express" stores began opening in June and will continue to open through November.
About 300 opened during the summer. Most will close in January, but some could become permanent outlet stores.
    6) Due to recent rise in E-commerce Toys R Us is opening express stores nationwide. They believe that these express stores will help raise revenue. They say the stores are temporary and just for the holidays and most will close in January after the holidays end.
    7) I feel that Toys R Us will keep a majority of the express shops open. The express shops will raise the revenue and the temporary stores will become permanent. They will raise the revenue so much that Toys R Us will open more.
    8) If they make a good income from the stores why would you close the stores?

    3. These machines are easily hack-able, this shows that they need better security programs on the machines, since 2006 voters have been weary about the e-voting machines, the e-voting machines are still not used in some areas of the world.

    2. As elections go, so goes democracy. In Ohio, a battleground state that made an indelible mark in election history in 2004 it's still trying to overcome when then Republican Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell soiled elections that year when his role as the state's chief elections officer was compromised by his partisan advocacy for his party's president, George W. Bush.
    3. One canary in the coalmine of Ohio voting making news this year that shows how fragile systems are, is the legal tussle taking place between the commissioners of one poor southeastern county and the small board of elections that finds itself short of funds to conduct a bare bones election. Charged by Ohio law to fund elections in their county, county commissioners in Morgan County, located in the heart of Appalachia in southeastern Ohio, have been taken to court by their small board of elections, who in a legal brief requested about $13,000 to conduct the General Elections now two weeks away.Alison L. Cauthorn, special prosecutor for the Morgan County BOE, said in a telephone interview Tuesday with CGE that in the wake of a motioned filed on August 2 asking for an emergency appropriation, commissioners, at a hearing on Oct. 14, have "agreed in theory" to fund through the end of the year the necessary and proper expenses other than salary for the four board members, which were frozen by an interim judge. Cauthorn, speaking for BOE director Missy Fisher who said she wasn't allowed to speak to the press on the matter, said, "I can't say if the commissioners have the money, but everyone has hard choices to make, and one commissioner says he's going through the budget to look because they need to pay for elections."
    4. I think it will become bigger than it is now in the future.

    2. The security of electronic voting machines in India is being questioned, due to the unreliability of the machines letting you choose who you want to vote for. Some voters complain that buttons stick and lights flash on the wrong candidate when they cast ballots electronically. Also, if you replaced the display unit of a machine with a cheap look-alike fitted with Bluetooth radio, then you could wirelessly signal to remotely change the count.

    3. A. People have complained about the buttons stick and lights flash on the wrong candidate when they cast ballots.
    B. Somebody tested that you could change the count wirelessly.
    C. The machines are cheap, at just over $200 each.
    D. The machines are actually the cheapest in the world.

    4. I predict that they will either upgrade the machines, or let people deal with it.

    5. Because they do not want to go back to paper ballots, they will keep the cheap machines.

    6. I understood that the company selling the machines has some bugs to work out, and should postpone the election until they are fixed.

    7. My opinion is that India is too poor to buy good machines, and will settle with the cheapest they could find.
    8. What do you think they should do for elections in India? Should they recall the machines, or keep them?

    2. A new report calls for creating a national, searchable database of electronic voting systems' defects and vulnerabilities. Currently, there is no central database that election officials can search for information about system malfunctions, nor is collection of data on system malfunctions required. In addition, no government agency investigates such failures and alerts the public, according to a report published September 13, 2010 by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law. Author Lawrence Norden, senior counsel to the Brennan Center, reviewed hundreds of reports of problems with electronic voting systems during the last eight years, including 14 case studies.

    3. He noted that election officials rely on vendors to keep them aware of potential problems with voting machines, which is often done voluntarily. Voting system failures in one jurisdiction tend to be repeated in other areas, resulting in reduced public confidence and lost votes. The new regulatory system must have a national database, accessible by election officials and others, that identifies voting system malfunctions reported by vendors or election officials. Vendors should be required to report to the system.

    4. I predict that if in the past and the present, the electronic voting machines have been malfunctioning, it will to continue to malfunction in the future. Computers do many errors, but it’s better to vote in a paper ballot than vote in a computer because there are many chances that your vote will be lost in the computer than getting lost in a box with paper ballot votes.

    5. Although the 2-year-old Election Assistance Commission tests new voting systems and has “made great strides” in doing so,” it needs additional authority to fully address the problem of unreported malfunctions with the systems.

    6. I understood that E-Voting is not as safe as voting in paper ballots because there are more chances that your vote will not be submitted in the computer than in a paper ballot.

    7. My opinion is that people should rather go to a voting place and cast their vote in a paper ballot than in a computer, because in a computer, the vote might get lost and not counted. It’s more safer to vote in a paper ballot.

    8. What would happen if that for the next presidential election, instead of voting in paper ballots, they would be replaced with e-voting machines, and those computers might lose most of the votes for the most preferred president, and by a mistake done by the computer, the wrong president gets elected?

Coming to you tube shortly will b a section for voting. This voting will be for the musically talented all over the globe. They are auditioning for a place in the You tube 2001 orchestra. We will vote on the semifinalist form the numerous that send in their videos.
    3) "We helped fundamentally challenge the norms of an entire industry and provided a digital meeting place for classical musicians around the world," said Ed Sanders
A cyberspace-based orchestra is conducting online auditions to find the best players to appear at a music summit in Australia that will be live-streamed on the Web.
YouTube launched its orchestra project last year with a sold-out Carnegie Hall concert featuring more than 90 musicians from 30 countries, including a surgeon-violinist and a professional poker player-cellist.
Musicians must upload audition videos of designated pieces to demonstrate their musical and technical abilities.
    4) I predict that hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions will submit their videos. It will be a hard choice for the judges and take a lot of time to sort through them all. However I feel that there will be some problems with the semifinal voting and live stream since it will be new to youtube.
    5) After the auditions end Nov. 28, an expert panel from leading orchestras will narrow entries.
YouTube's global community of hundreds of millions of viewers will then be invited to vote for the semifinalists, from Dec. 10 through Dec. 17. Winners are to be announced Jan. 11.

They will be using their website to allow user to post videos of their audition then judges will review them and choose the best to performers for the orchestra. Then we as the public will the choose the semifinalist and the ones we pick will be in and go to master classes.
    7) My opinion on this is that it is god for musicians. The ones chosen for this will experience a once in a life time opportunity and will grow from it greatly.

The reasons for Her opposition are manyfold, and are expressed in my writings as well as those of other well-respected computer security experts.
    2. Facts:
    • Back in 2000 when the U.S. Department of Defense first tried Internet voting they spent $6.2M so that 84 voters could cast ballots. Internet voting is risky due to its sociological and technological problems. Internet voting creates additional problems due to the inability of service providers to assure that websites are not spoofed, denial of service attacks do not occur,
    • The 2002 Help America Vote Act (HAVA) legislation authorized $3.8B in federal spending, with a substantial portion of these funds allocated to US states and territories for the purpose of replacing their punch card and lever voting machines and making voting systems accessible to the disabled.
    • As it turns out, a small team of vote counters (perhaps drafted as for jury duty), using a simple bin (not binary) method should be able to hand-tabulate all but the most complex ballots in time for the 11 o'clock news.
    • National Popular Vote (NPV) legislation has been creeping into state after state. The same group that has been promoting NPV is also hawking Instant Runoff Voting (IRV). The key founder of the organization behind both of these absurdities is none other than John "the spoiler" Anderson.

    3. Prediction: In my conclusion I feel as though that Electronic Voting will become a thing of the past because Electronic Voting is only causing the downfall of our nation. Electronic Voting cause many down false since it deals with computers and Technology has Faults and Issues

2.) Civil suit against a former spy who published a book critical of the agency without the necessary review of the material by the agency, in violation of a secrecy agreement
3.) In a statement released Tuesday, the CIA said "Jones" violated the secrecy agreement he voluntarily signed as a condition of employment.
4.) He said his book, which remains available online, contains no classified information, but it "exposes the CIA as a place to get rich, with billions of taxpayer dollars wasted or stolen in espionage programs that produce nothing."
5.) Although Jones submitted his manuscript to the Agency's Publications Review Board (PRB) as his secrecy agreement requires, he did not let that review process run its course and instead published in defiance of the Board's initial disapproval," said the CIA statement.
6.) The identity theft is a major thing that’s been going around with stealing people’s identity

  44. 1) Tyler Snyder, Identity theft ring breaches Holy Cross Hospital, http://www.sun-sentinel.com/health/fl-hk-holy-cross-id-20101110,0,1411841.story
    2) Four employees managed to breach the security of the Holy Cross Hospital and steam the social security of approximately 1,400 patients. The hospital has yet to determine the identities of the ones affected, so they let all of the 44,000 patients know so they can check for signs if their identity has been compromised.
    3) A) An identity theft ring managed to breach emergency room files at Holy Cross
    B) Hospital to steal Social Security numbers and personal details of about 1,500 patients
    C) Emergency room employee Natashi Orr was among four people arrested as part of an investigation that began before June, U.S. postal inspectors and prosecutors said
After federal agents uncovered the scheme, hospital technicians spent months tracking Orr's computer activity but cannot be sure which 1,500 patients she compromised
    D) As a precaution, Holy Cross is notifying all 44,000 patients who visited the emergency room
    4) I predict that as time goes by the other three conspirators’ in the scheme will be reviled and be given the justice they deserve. I also predict that the ones affected will come forward and present their case and aid in justice and also be compensated.
    5) A) The hospital employee pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years' probation including six months of house arrest.
    B) At Holy Cross, technicians discovered that Orr, 36, had printed basic computerized forms in patient files containing name, address, birth date, diagnosis and other details
    C) Both were paid for the information by Mildred Alexis, 42, of Miramar. Alexis then sold the ID details to Albert Anthony Andrulonis, 26, of Davie, and Jimmy Lee Theodore, 27, of Pembroke Pines, who used the data to obtain credit cards and bank debit-card accounts to steal money.
    6) I understood that at a hospital there was a security breach that led to a employee gaining access to the confidential files of patients. When brought to court she pleaded guilty and was able to give names of other involved. Her information was rewarded with three years probation six of which she is on house arrest, which is better than jail.
    7) I feel that identity theft is wrong. If there were a way to stop it I would. I think we all would.
    8) If you got your identity stolen what would you do?

  45. 1. John Restrepo, Victims Unaware How or When Identity Theft Occurred, http://www.creditreport.com/identitytheft/articles/victims-unaware-or-identity-theft-occurred_800127142.aspx

    2. Sometimes it can be baffling trying to determine the source of identity theft, while other times, it's easy to trace the crime back to a certain event. For instance, a stolen wallet or a hospital data breach are clear incidents which can potentially result in identity theft. Identity theft is a crime that comes in many forms. Although it is not highly publicized, it is fairly common for one's identity to be stolen for the purpose of employment. It's easy to circumvent these crimes by monitoring your credit. A quick check of your credit report is a simple way to know where your personal information, or identity, has been used, and whether the thief used it to obtain a job, a cell phone plan, or access to your checking account.

    3. Your credit report contains the entire history and current status of your financial life. Along with detailing the debt in your name, you will find any and all reported personal information, such as name, address and employer. Commonly there will be variations listed. Dispute all inaccuracies, even harmless spelling mistakes. If there is a glaring mistake that you feel could indicate identity theft, call your creditors and investigate.

    4. I predict that whenever someone is going to use a social security number to apply for a job or going to pay with a debit/credit card, they will be ask to give some type of identification due to identity theft.

    5. Many people who suffer from events such as this find comfort in the added layer of protection that credit monitoring provides. A low cost monitoring service will send email alerts so people are constantly aware of the information contained in their credit report.

    6. I understood that it is very easy to get your identity stolen. So whenever you think your identity has been stolen, you can always call your creditors and investigate.

    7. My opinion is that people should always have their social security locked away in a fire proof box at home where only they have access to the box. And people should always be very careful with their credit cards. Who knows who might be sneaky enough to snatch it away with out the person noticing their wallet got stolen.

    8. How would you react if you found out that your identity has been stolen.

    2. The author’s point of view is that the suspect is going around and using a stolen credit card. They got a picture of him in the crime and are trying to retrieve him. He thinks that it is terrible that this guy is stealing peoples identity and using all of their money.
    3. The suspect, according to Temple, used a credit card stolen from someone out of town, and there is a chance the suspect might not be local. A surveillance camera at one of the locations was able to capture a picture of a possible suspect in the case. We sure would like to get that call from somebody identifying him.
    4. I believe that in the matter of time they will catch the suspect. As of right now he is in a certain area. And they have a clear picture of the suspects face in the crime.
    5. The crime stoppers do everything in their power to catch suspects. Which mean they should catch him the near future.
    6. I understand that it can happen to anyone. Identity theft is a terrible crime. It must be a terrible feeling. And that it’s just a stranger trying to act like you.
    7. My opinion on this article is that it is scary. It can happen to anyone. And you may not even know that it is happening. You have to be really safe now a day.
    8. What are you doing to prevent yourself from identity theft?

    http://newssun.suntimes.com/news/2461685-418/credit-card-johnson-care-elderly.html
2)Based on the authors point of view identity theft is a serious crime no one should go unpunished for their actions. People should be less frugal with the people they trust because for all they know they could be doing things behind their backs such as Identity theft.
    3)
•A 38-year-old Zion woman was arrested after she allegedly used the credit card of an elderly man in her care.
•Unauthorized use of a credit card will only lead you to severe punishment when caught by the authorities
•The credit card companies were contacted immediately and the victim’s accounts were flagged to prevent additional fraudulent acts.
•Particularly senior’s citizens. Citizens are encouraged to contact police immediately if they encounter suspicious activity on their financial statements or credit reports. It’s important to notify police and financial institutions as soon as possible in such cases.
4)From my prediction as technology advances people will have hard time stealing information from other people. Credit cards and other things such as your social security card will be a hard task to overcome but as more ideas are incorporated into the us defense system then situation such as identity theft can be inevitable
5)Identity theft is a Class 3 felony, punishable by two to five years in prison.

6)What I understood from this store is that identity theft can happen to everyone and that you should be frugal with the information you have in your position. Not to mention that you should find people who you can trust that will protect you in your time of need.

7)i believe that identity theft is completely wrong and that it should be stopped as soon as possible. Laws are being enforced and companies are trying their best to inform these rules all around the world but some people around the world sometimes are either searching for other peoples information or over taking some opportunities.

8)Should identity theft be more enforced in the united states

    4) More Americans will be familiar with identity theft and protect their personal and financial stuff more.

    5) If you are a victim you should contact the three major credit bureaus which are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion once contact has been made you should make a fraud alert.

    6) From this story I understood that many Americans are victims of identity theft and do not even know how it happened.

    7) There should be more programs that aid people in protecting their financial and personal stuff.
